GravityZone subscriptions bought online renew automatically. You can turn renewal off at any time. A first order can be refunded in full within 30 days, and a renewal charge can be disputed within 30 days of the charge. After that, Bitdefender decides case by case.

How GravityZone auto-renewal works
Each GravityZone package page carries the same terms: an online subscription starts on the purchase date and “will automatically renew if you don't specifically cancel the automatically renew option.” Bitdefender says it sends renewal reminders in advance. Online subscriptions run for 1, 2, or 3 years, so the reminder and the charge can be years after the person who bought it has moved on. Put the renewal date in a shared calendar.
MSPs on Cloud MSP Security are billed monthly by usage with no minimum commitment, so there is no annual renewal to cancel. Stopping means removing the agents from client devices.
How to turn off GravityZone auto-renewal
- Find the order confirmation email from the online purchase. It names the order number and the email address on the account.
- Sign in to your billing profile with that email. Online orders are processed by 2Checkout (Verifone), whose shopper account at secure.2co.com/myaccount lists the order and its renewal setting.
- Turn off automatic renewal for the GravityZone subscription and keep the confirmation.
- If you can't find the setting, contact Bitdefender business support with the order number and ask them to stop the renewal.
Turning off renewal stops the next charge. It does not refund the term you are in; that needs a refund request inside the 30-day window.
How to ask for a refund
Write to Bitdefender support within the 30-day window: 30 days from the order date for a new purchase, or 30 days from the renewal charge for a renewal. Include the order number, the date, and the reason. For an unintended or duplicate renewal, attach the proof (the duplicate order, or the reseller invoice if you also bought through a partner).
The policy ends with a reservation worth knowing: refunds are given “at Bitdefender's sole discretion on a case-by-case basis.” Outside the 30-day windows, the policy gives you no right to one.
Renewal problems reviewers report
Renewals come up in a few of the reviews on this site. One TrustRadius reviewer (2021) says renewing results in lost days on the old license unless the new license is added on exactly the right date. Another says a previous partner deleted their account after renewal. A TrustRadius reviewer in 2025 asked for a clearer billing portal.
The practical fixes: renew online from the console before the expiry date rather than buying a new license, and if a partner manages your account, get the license key and console admin access in writing. If you run out of seats mid-term, Bitdefender gives new devices up to 30 days of trial coverage while you add licenses.
Which laws apply to business renewals
US automatic-renewal laws mostly protect consumers. California's, in Business and Professions Code section 17600 and following, defines a consumer as someone buying for personal, family, or household purposes, and many other states define it the same way. A GravityZone license bought by a company usually falls outside them.
The FTC's 2024 “click-to-cancel” rule would have covered business buyers too, but the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit vacated it in July 2025. For a business buyer, the contract and Bitdefender's published policy are what count. Keep a copy of the policy page from the date you buy.
