Why buyers look past CrowdStrike

CrowdStrike Falcon is well reviewed: 4.4 out of 5 from 173 reviews on PeerSpot. Its critics are consistent, though. In the 40 most recent reviews, the complaints that repeat are price, especially modules sold separately (about 11 reviews), a console that takes expertise (about 11), and documentation and support (4 or 5). Six reviewers mention the July 2024 outage, mostly as something they got past.

“the license is expensive since it is based on per host”Bicky Simon, PeerSpot, September 2026
“It almost takes an expert in the platform to be able to extract the information that you need.”reviewer2894523, PeerSpot, September 2026
“Documentation is abysmal and needs to be improved dramatically.”Jacob White, PeerSpot, September 2026

Lab results add a fourth reason for small teams: in AV-Comparatives' business tests, the lab named Falcon Pro among products with above-average false alarms in late 2025, and it raised 144 over three years. Each one is a ticket for someone.

The 5 best CrowdStrike alternatives

  1. Bitdefender GravityZone

    Lower price, fewer false alarms

In AV-Comparatives' Business Security Tests from 2023 to 2025 (2,901 cases), GravityZone was compromised 3 times with 11 false alarms; Falcon Pro 28 times with 144. It lists at $384.99 a year for 10 devices on Business Security against $999.90 for Falcon Pro, counts servers as devices, and can run its console on-premises. Caveats: its EDR tier is quote-only, its reviewers name the console and slow support as weak spots, and it skipped MITRE's 2025 evaluation, where Falcon did well.

  2. SentinelOne Singularity

    Rollback and investigation tools

Includes one-click ransomware rollback in every tier, which CrowdStrike reviewers who have used both name as a Falcon gap, and its support gets strong reviews. Its EDR tier lists at $179.99 per endpoint a year, through partners only. Caveats: it isn't in AV-Comparatives' business tests, skipped MITRE 2025, and reviewers report daily exclusion work for false positives.

  3. Microsoft Defender for Business

If you already pay for Microsoft 365

Costs $3 per user per month with EDR, covers up to 5 devices per user, and is included in Microsoft 365 Business Premium. 4. Huntress Managed EDR

If nobody has time to run the console

A 24/7 human SOC watches your endpoints for $7.99 per endpoint per month at 100 endpoints, with Microsoft Defender managed for prevention. It rates 4.6 out of 5 on PeerSpot. 5. Sophos Endpoint

If you run Sophos firewalls or want large-scale MDR

Shares threat information with Sophos firewalls and has a large MDR service, expanded with Secureworks in 2025. Certified in every AV-TEST business round since 2022. When to stay with CrowdStrike

Stay if you rely on Falcon Enterprise's bundled OverWatch threat hunting, need mobile protection in the same license, value monthly billing, or are already using CrowdStrike for identity or SIEM. Its 2025 MITRE result was excellent, and since the 2024 outage it lets customers control when content updates roll out.

If price or false alarms are why you are looking, Bitdefender GravityZone is the like-for-like alternative: tested by the same lab in the same rounds, with better results and a lower list price. Read its full review record, critical reviews included.
