Our verdict on Bitdefender GravityZone

Updated September 30, 2026

GravityZone earns its high marks on protection: reviewers across every platform say it catches threats and stays out of the way on most machines. Recent Gartner reviews also praise the support team and training. The weak spots are the console, which many find hard to navigate and thin on reporting, and setup, which rewards someone who knows endpoint policies. Some older PCs slow down during full scans.

Experiencing Bitdefender: An Insight into Exceptional Customer Service

While shopping for a solution, the Bitdefender team was super responsive, ensuring we selected the right product for our needs. The engineering team was also very helpful in answering our technical questions and offering solutions to our unique requests. In the implementation phase, the team came up with a transition plan which was totally hands-off on our part. Now that we've been customers for over a year, they have continued to keep us updated on new offerings. We're testing out PHASR which is showing us potential threats hidden inside legitimate everyday tools that we already use, filling a security gap in our environment.

One of the best AVs out there

As an MSP, we have been using Bitdefender for over 2 years now. It sends emails to our monitoring team to notify us of potential events so that we can respond as needed. No need to stare at a dashboard to monitor endpoints. It integrates with our RMM well and is extremely customizable based on our clients' individual needs. Pros: I can set it and forget it. Monitoring made simple. Integrates with other tools well. Can easily automate installation. Cons: It is VERY protective by default, but is easily configurable to fit the needs of the endpoint.

GravityZone Improves Endpoint Security and Visibility But Reporting Lacks Granularity

We have been using Bitdefender GravityZone as our primary endpoint protection and EDR platform for many years, and our experience has been consistently been exceptional. Recently, we worked closely with people from the Bitdefender team to enable some new capabilities that the platform offers, and the guidance they provided from the XDR licensing and architecture to implementation best practices made the entire process smooth and efficient. Their expertise allowed us to align the deployment with our broader security strategy and operational requirements. GravityZone has given us significantly improved endpoint visibility, stronger defensive layers, and more proactive detection capabilities. As our environment continues to grow in both complexity and security expectations, GravityZone has remained a dependable, scalable solution that continues to evolve with our needs.

Excellent Small Business to Corporate Level Endpoint Protection

I use Bitdefender GravityZone for one of the small businesses I support. This business has 12 computers spread across 3 sites. The product is able to protect all these machines against malicious threats from outside of the organization (email, phishing, attachment attacks etc.), and also against intended or unintended attacks from within, e.g. someone putting an infected USB device into a PC port. I can see at a glance how the product is protecting the devices within the Company and how many times it gets attacked, along with the source of the attack and how Bitdefender has removed or made the machines safe again. Pros: Block and disinfect threats; Protect devices from internal and external attack; Scale for more users and computers; Show current status of every machine in the company Cons: Making it easier to create an endpoint package to deploy to a new PC on the network.

Bitdefender - The answer to all our nightmares!

We have around 120 endpoints (mostly Windows - but a few MACs) - We moved to Bitdefender after using a Russian AV-based company due to concerns. We are using the full suite offered by GravityZone, which has been far less intrusive and resource-hungry than the previous solution. We have now even added MDR as a package. We like the flexibility to be able to bolt on add-ons and the support offered to integrate these add-ons as and when needed. Pros: Threat Monitoring.; Patch management.; Real time alerting of any potential issues.; Great Support. Cons: Sometimes finding more detail on the console about an event can be a bit harder than you would expect.; The homepage doesnt let you drill down by clicking on the overview graphics - it would be a nice feature for easy troubleshooting.

Bitdefender GravityZone is a great bang for your buck.

We are a Managed Service Provider. I have been advocating for Bitdefender GravityZone when I first started here over five years ago. We finally made the change from Kaspersky to Bitdefender about two years ago and we will never go back. We have rolled out Bitdefender GravityZone both internally and across our entire client base. It runs with a very small footprint and stops any threat thrown at it.I can't say enough good things about this product. Pros: Small footprint with minimum resources required; Very adept at stopping 0-Day Threats; Scans are quick and efficient; Works on Windows and Macs; Centrally controlled, very easy to update policies Cons: Better reporting, more options for reports; New cloud dashboard is harder to navigate than previous; Cloud dashboard isn't very user friendly for new techs

Strong malware detection alongside lightweight performance and straightforward deployment

GravityZone has been a solid, low-maintenance endpoint platform for us. Deployment through a single lightweight agent was straightforward and I'm excited to try the cloud version. Malware and behavioral detection have been consistently strong with very few false positives and performance impact on endpoints is noticeably lighter than our previous solution. Policy management is granular without being overwhelming, and integrating it into our existing patch and vulnerability workflow was painless. Support has been responsive when we've needed them.

Affordable Business Security perfect for SMBs

This was my first foray into setting up a SMB Internet Security program, and as such there was a pretty steep learning curve for me to figure out what the do's and don'ts of setup are. However, once it was set up it very much takes care of itself with minimal interaction from me. I occasionally have to whitelist certain things, or adjust a couple of settings here and there, but for the most part we've been running it for a little over three years with no incidents. Pros: Once it is set up, GravityZone takes a very hands-off approach to Internet Security. It was easy to install and it updates regularly without having to manually push updates. It is a large program, but it doesn't use a ton of system resources, which is great because some of our hardware is older. Cons: Initial setup was a bit complicated. I had to contact them a few times in order to get all my bearings with the program.

Excellent business antivirus solution

I have used Bitdefender for several years both for my internal computers and also for all of my clients. I manage endpoints via the gravity zone online portal when it comes to deploying new devices and managing existing ones. Pros: I love how functional Bitdefender is, how it will run on client devices with minimal impact or disruption to the client and also how wasy it is to deploy and manage endpoints from a centralised portal. Cons: I sometimes find the dashboard complicated and sometimes things are hard to find such as when I am trying to exclude a file from scanning modules or temporarily disable antivirus protection on a particular endpoint.

Impressive reliability and responsive team offset by aging design elements

As an individual, I have been thoroughly impressed with Bitdefender. Having used multiple EDR/XDR platforms in the past, I would like to think I have enough experience to say that BitDefender are the guys I would go with every single time. The team alone and customer service are some of the best I have ever dealt with in our industry, and the product itself is nothing short of a workhorse. For reference, I use GravityZone for 60-80% of my daily work. Comparing this product to competitors, I think it punches far above it's weight. The reliability and functionality out-of-the-box are phenomenal. I would recommended this Company and their product 10x over.

Malware Detection and Centralized Console Enhance GravityZone for Security Teams

From a SOC analyst's perspective, Bitdefender GravityZone is a solid endpoint security platform that strikes a good balance between strong protection and ease of use. Its malware detection and prevention features are dependable, and the centralized console makes it easy to manage policies and alerts across a large environment. The built-in threat intelligence and automated response options also cut down on manual work, which really helps during fast-moving incidents. What really stands out is how clear and manageable the alerts are. Overall, GravityZone delivers strong protection without extra complexity, making it a dependable choice for teams who want effective security that just works.

What Bitdefender GravityZone actually does differently

Ransomware rollback from its own backups

Ransomware Mitigation stops abnormal encryption and restores the files from tamper-proof backups GravityZone keeps itself, so recovery doesn't depend on Windows shadow copies, which ransomware often deletes. Every package includes it, Small Business Security too.

HyperDetect: machine learning you can tune

From Business Security Premium up, admins set how aggressively its machine learning blocks threats before they run, fileless attacks included, and can send suspect files to a cloud sandbox for detonation.

A risk score for misconfigurations and risky users

Endpoint Risk Analytics (Business Security and up) flags misconfigured OS and app settings, vulnerable software, and risky user behavior, ranked by what to fix first. It also tracks a company risk score over time.

Cloud, on-premises, or air-gapped console

Run the management console in Bitdefender's cloud, with an EU-hosted option, or on your own virtual machines, including networks with no internet connection. One agent covers Windows, macOS, and Linux either way.

PHASR: attack surface cut per user

PHASR learns which built-in admin tools, such as PowerShell, each user needs and restricts the rest for that user, which leaves attackers fewer legitimate tools to abuse. It is an extra license on Business Security Enterprise, MDR, and MSP plans.

Who Bitdefender GravityZone is for

Small businesses without an IT department (1 to 100 devices)

An owner or office manager has to keep a few laptops, desktops, and a file server safe from ransomware and phishing, with no security staff.

Small Business Security is bought online for 1 to 100 devices, up to 30% of them servers, and runs from one cloud console. A small-business president on TrustRadius sums it up as "It Just Works"; an owner of a team under five, managing it without IT help, found its strict policies made installing ordinary software a chore.

Lean IT teams with no security operations center

Generalist IT staff also own security, and nobody is free to watch alerts around the clock.

Business Security Premium adds tunable machine learning and a cloud sandbox (online up to 100 devices). Business Security Enterprise adds EDR that correlates incidents across endpoints, and Bitdefender MDR puts its 24x7 SOC on top for teams that can't staff one.

MSPs securing dozens of client networks

They need to watch threats across many small client networks without logging in to each one, and pay only for the seats clients use.

GravityZone Cloud MSP Security runs every client from one multi-tenant console, bills monthly by usage with no minimum commitment, and connects to ConnectWise, Kaseya, NinjaOne, and Atera. MSP reviewers single out seeing all their clients in one portal.

US organizations replacing Kaspersky

Since the 2024 Commerce Department ban, Kaspersky can't sell or update its software in the US, so those endpoints need a new product.

Bitdefender's Kaspersky switch offer: buy 1 year of Business Security Premium or Enterprise and get 6 months free, or buy 3 years and get 1 year free. An MSP that moved from Kaspersky reports no more false positives or bogged-down CPUs.

School districts and public-sector IT teams

A small IT team protects staff and student devices across a district or agency on a fixed public budget.

Education and government IT staff write a large share of GravityZone's Gartner reviews. One district IT director says its pricing lets them "maximize the utilization of cybersecurity funds within our district", and another district pairs the console with Bitdefender MDR for 24/7 threat response.

Air-gapped and on-premises networks

Factories, defense suppliers, and hospitals with networks that can't reach the internet can't run a cloud-only security console.

From Business Security up, the GravityZone console can run on your own virtual machines instead of Bitdefender's cloud, including fully offline networks. A SecOps engineer on Gartner Peer Insights lists "On-Prem Offline" among the deployment models it supports.
